Who We Are

We are a husband and wife team who have lived in Catalunya with our 4 children for 6 years. We set up La Muga Holidays in 2008 and run the business from our home in St Llorenc de la Muga.

We have enjoyed exploring the beautiful countryside that surrounds us as have our family and friends. We have made friends with many of the Catalan people here who have shared their knowledge of the area with us so we can explore further afield than many people who holiday here.

We feel we can offer our guests a unique holiday and have put together a variety of walks and excursions which we hope will suit everyone. Most of the walks can accomodate a meal at a traditional restaurant and we will be there to explain the “menu” (a traditional meal often only offered to the locals) for you.

Where We Are

St Llorenc de la Muga is a medieval village situated in the North East of Spain in an unspoilt area often overlooked by holiday makers either heading further south or to the coast.

This is a very peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle of the costal areas.

The town of Figueres is 20 minutes away by car, the nearest beach about 35 minutes and the airports of Perpignan and Girona 1 hour. Barcelona is a little under 2 hours as are the nearest ski slopes.
